FAQs

GreenerMiles Program

How will GreenerMiles help my business?

Consumer purchasing behavior is shifting. Today, telling your sustainability story to your customers and employees builds trust, credibility, and loyalty. This can help you win more business and increase brand awareness.

What is the cost of this program?

For as low as $10 per vehicle per month we can reduce your CO2e (carbon) emissions by up to 100%. Click here for a quote.

How does the program offset my emissions?

With every gallon of fuel purchased, your vehicle's tailpipe CO2 emissions generated are tracked and calculated by the gallon. Through investments in certified carbon offset projects around the world, the program proportionally offsets your emissions. Certified carbon offset projects include renewable energy development projects, including wind and solar, landfill methane recovery, carbon capture and destruction projects, and more.

Who tracks and verifies these certified carbon offset projects?

All certified carbon offset projects adhere to stringent international registries and carbon standards. To learn more and to view the projects GreenerMiles has invested in to date click here.

Will I receive marketing materials to help me promote this program?

Yes. Your enrollment in the GreenerMiles Program comes with a welcome kit shipped within 1-2 business weeks of signing as well as a suite of marketing tools to help differentiate your company and promote and market your sustainability story. Click here to learn more.

Where can I learn more about GreenerMiles?

To learn more about the GreenerMiles program, please visit the Benefits and How it Works sections on the website. For further questions and information, please visit our contact page.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes, you can cancel your membership in the GreenerMiles Program at any time with 60-days notice (please refer to your specific contract for more details). If you have any questions, please visit our contact page to request a membership cancellation.

How do you calculate my emissions?

GreenerMiles calculates your carbon emissions based on vehicle type, mileage driven, and/or reported fuel consumption by fuel type. These data points allow us to accurately calculate the emissions your vehicles produce. When data is not available, we use industry averages for annual mileage and fuel economy by vehicle type from the EPA and FHWA.

Who operates the GreenerMiles program?

The GreenerMiles program is operated by PDI Sustainability Solutions. You can learn more about PDI Sustainability Solutions by visiting https://pditechnologies.com/engage-customers/sustainability-solutions/.

Carbon Offsets and Projects

What is a certified carbon offset?

A certified carbon offset is a certificate representing the reduction, destruction or capture of one metric ton of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions or equivalent greenhouse gases such as methane. Carbon offsets are produced by carbon reduction projects that have been certified and audited. These projects must follow strict guidelines established by internationally recognized standards in order to generate certified carbon offsets.

How are carbon offsets purchased?

Carbon offsets are purchased to negate a CO2 equivalent emission. Offsets are certified and exchanged, much like stocks, via one of the officially recognized carbon registries such as Gold Standard, Climate Action Reserve and Verified Carbon Standard.

What is a certified carbon reduction project?

A certified carbon reduction project is a project specifically designed to reduce, capture or destroy greenhouse gases that would otherwise be emitted into the atmosphere. An example is a methane gas capture project at a landfill.

What types of projects qualify as certified carbon reduction projects?

There are many different types of carbon offset projects that avoid, reduce, destroy, or capture the emission of greenhouse gases. Project types include renewable energy, such as wind farms, biomass energy, or hydroelectric dams. Others include energy efficiency projects, the destruction of industrial pollutants or agricultural byproducts, greenhouse gas abatement, zero till cropping, destruction of landfill methane, and forestry projects.
